John

Assume it was Bo: Bo's statement "it was Bo" is True, "It wasn't Roman" must be false-So it was Roman, So Bo cannot be it.

Kate's statement "It was Bo" must be false, so "It was John" must be true-John is it

Also

Since Bo wasn't it, Roman's statement "It wasn't Bo" must be true, so "It was Kate" must be false, So Kate cannot be it.

John's statement "It wasn't Kate" must be true, so "It was Roman" must be false, so Roman cannot be it.

LINE 2 TRUE AND LINE 4 FALSE KATE STOLE.?

It was John.

Based off of Bo's statements, either both he and Roman did it, or neither did(as one statement is true, one false).

Since only one person stole it, neither did.

So it was John or Kate.

Then Roman says "It wasn't Bo." which is true, so his statement that Kate did it is false.

Therefore John did it by elimination.

Bo said: It was Bo. It wasn't Roman.

Roman said: It was Kate. It wasn't Bo.

John said: It was Roman. It wasn't Kate.

Kate said: It was John. It was Bo.

[spoiler=Free spoilers today ... B)) ]Okay Lets go and see what Kate said... It was John. It was Bo. One statement true, and the other one is not. So it has to be either John or Bo to make one of this statement to be true. It can not be the other two (Roman and Kate). Roman said it was Kate (not true); then Roman's true statement was "It wasn't Bo.". Therefore it must be JOHN.

based on line 1...

it can't be Bo because he will end up with 2 True if Bo is the thief

based on line 4...

it must be John because Bo is proven innocent in line 1 and it fits the 1 true-1 false rule

so John stole the jewel, go lock him
