Question

The wisest sage I mystify

His clever words I steal

I wrest his hope and leave to die

Into the chaos let him reel.

He'll never hear my deft approach

He'll not foresee my game

But once my hands are at his throat

All close to him will know my name.

Alzheimersor senility

Excellent!

That's what I had in mind. My grandpa had Alzheimer's and he recently died from it. Most people only associate it with memory loss, but it also affects speech and physical capabilities, and I figured it would be too big a clue if I specifically mentioned memory loss. In any case, I guarantee you that any family that has to deal with it will be very familiar with the name.
