Question

The following verses each have an individual answer. They are all also related. What does each verse represent and what is the common theme?

1) Standing tall, old and proud

Symbolic of Hades' prickly shroud

2) The bright stand out and clearly show

A wind above the town below

3) Raised in Italy, brought to France

Now almost everywhere I dance

On pendants and patches

Uniforms and Flags

Artistically, I am thusly enhanced

4) Though not as wicked as death

I bare the same name

We do both end lives

Our tools are the same

5) Now that the sun has dipped below the horizon

There's an eatery of sorts, that I've got my eyes on

With a patio and chairs I can sit outside on

You've basically got number 3, but take it a step further (or backward) ;)

a lily?

I think the theme is going to be flowers/plants, and the other answers?

1) Cypress

2) Dandelion?

Well done so far! You've got 1 and 3. The theme is a little off though it seems you're almost there.

1) Some event? Not sure...

2) The main Olympic Torch, or the Dove Release

3) The Carrying of the starter Olympic Torch

4) The Skeleton race, involves blades. (Winter Olympic event, like the luge but on ice. Or like the Bob-sled, but with 1 person lying down)

5) Some type of Olympic Cafe maybe?

Nice guesses, but the theme is not the Olympics.

I'm almost out of tries for number two, but the only other things I could think of would be:

2) Bird or Tree

4) Harvest (Some may call death a harvest, it ends the life of the plant, and it uses a scythe)

I've yet to come up with anything at all for 5.

I may be stretching a bit.

You're way off for 2, for 4 you are very close though. You deserve some e-kudos already. Really well done so far Enlightened; this is a tough one ;)

Maybe a sickle?

Still trying to figure out the theme...maybe something to do with seasons or cycles.

Very very close with #4. The overall theme is still not quite shaping up though. Nice try though.
