He was obviously very superstitious... like that person said... otherwise insanity, or maybe it was coincidence that he shot himself right after he saw the stone. Or maybe the stone had blood from a relative or someone he couldn't live without and this was his relization that they were dead... The possibilities are truly endless. The one thing he was missing on his list!
