Question

Sam is talking to his lawyer in jail. They are very upset because the judge has refused to grant bail. Oddly enough, at the end of the conversation Sam is allowed to leave jail. Why?

Sam is visiting his lawyer, who is in jail. Sam could be a regular prisoner who is out on bail, while his lawyer could have been held in contempt for something that went on in the courtroom and is stuck in jail without bail.

Love the way the words are used. :)

He goes out because his lawyer was in jail, not him.
