Question

tower.jpg

Construct the most stable 7 layered tower on a flat surface out of a double-six Domino set.
The layers are made of 4 tiles (2x1x1/4") resting on their longer edges to form  the squared walls.
Since the pips makes the dominoes lighter..the base of the tower should have even pressure. How then
tiles should be arranged or stack up?

One possible solution:

Spoiler

1-1  2-0  0-0  1-0 (top)
1-2  0-3  2-2  3-1
4-0  5-0  3-2  1-4
1-5  0-6  2-4  3-3
3-4  6-1  4-4  2-5
5-3  2-6  4-5  6-3
6-6  6-5  6-4  5-5 (bottom)

Each single ½-domino tile column-wall-half totals 21 pips and each domino tile column-wall totals 42 pips.  The heavier dominos are on the bottom and the lighter dominos are on the top.

Good one!

Spoiler

The actual intended puzzle is to make all horizontal and vertical alignment to "contain all the numbers (0 - 6)" .The solution  eludes me until now.. But the vertical sum  equals 21 is fun to do anyway. Here is one solution with all vertical containing (0-6):

6 6     6 4     5 6     3 6
5 5     4 5     3 4     6 2
4 4     5 3     6 1     2 5
3 3     0 6     4 2     5 1
2 2     3 2     0 5     1 4
1 1     2 1     1 3     4 0
0 0     1 0     2 0     0 3
