The two triangles have different slopes, as Bonova said. The blue triangles have a slope of 5/2 (2.5), while the green triangles have a slope of 7/3 (2 and 1/3) The first triangle on the left is tilting inward. The one on the right is tilting outward. This difference is what causes the two missing squares.
