Can you solve Einstein's Riddle?

There are 5 houses that are each a different colour.
There is a person of a different nationality in each house.
The 5 owners drink a certain drink. They each smoke a certain brand of cigarettes and also have a certain pet. No owner has the same pet, smokes the same brand of cigarettes nor drinks the same drink.
The question is: Who has the fish?

1. The British man lives in a red house.
2. The Swedish man keeps dogs as pets.
3. The Danish man drinks tea.
4. The Green house is next to, and on the left of the White house.
5. The owner of the Green house drinks coffee.
6. The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds.
7. The owner of the Yellow house smokes Dunhill.
8. The man living in the center house drinks milk.
9. The Norwegian lives in the first house.
10. The man who smokes Blends lives next to the one who keeps cats.
11. The man who keeps horses lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill.
12. The man who smokes Blue Master drinks beer.
13. The German smokes Prince.
14. The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.
15. The Blends smoker lives next to the one who drinks water

german has the fish, I'll let some one else post the complete link between all people and each thing, though i solved that.

Nana, I think this one was previously posted, although quite a while ago and perhaps before the time of most current Denizens.

And since it's one of the better puzzles of its type and well worth the solve, people may want to give it another shot.

For those who do, two things need to be assumed:

[1] that one of the house owners does in fact have fish as a pet.

[2] that "first" in the sense of Clue 9 means "leftmost" in the sense of Clue 4.

With those assumptions the clues give an unambiguous solution.
