If the fourth line is anything to go by , it is a penguin. ;)

Caricature generally implies a portrait in black and white.

Many also use colours , but I will go with penguins.

Not many penguins in Northern snow or in Southern Plains, but good guess.

Ok, everyone keeps giving providing things that are alive as answers. By line two I'm convinced it's an activity of sorts. Could you provide the correct direction between the two aforementioned choices? Thanks for this HORRIBLE puzzle :P

You're very welcome. Since nobody's solved it yet, it can't be THAT horrible B))

And a no for Rubik's cube. It doesn't fit the 4th line. That's also a good try, though Etch-a-sketch is still my favorite attempt.

Found on the northern snow and on the southern plain

Even though many have bested this game

Millions still revel in its name

A caricaturist makes it say the same

very unsure

tic-tac-to (noughts and cross's

OK, since this one seems to be dying out I'll point the way. Yes, there are 2, maybe more, ways to read the second line. The intended direction is toward the living. But the duality was intended to make the riddle more difficult.

itachi-san - another excellent puzzle. you have a way of making these seem just easy enough for me to think I can get them and hard enough for me to drive myself crazy trying to come up with an answer. exactly what a good puzzle should be.

an owl

Bononova's already made this guess , but still I will proceed with my reasoning.

The Polar bear?

This sort of fits .

Because it lives in northern region(Arctic, though not sure about the southern plains).

It has been hunted for centuries.

And even now they are being hunted.

And again caricature may mean a colorless portrait. :)

And I entirely agree with Alfred.
