I just heard this one and I like it:

One lonely night, a king, queen, princess, prince and driver get on a bus. a king, queen, princess, prince and a driver get off. who is left?

I like this one, but it doesn't work well when it's written. I wonder if there's a way to write this so it has no flaws...

Night as Night and not as Knight ,

I would say one set of king , queen , prince , princess , driver got off and another set got in .

So it would be the same number. The OP does not specify whether the bus travelled . So my solution could be possible. :)

And even if Night is considered as Knight , he was not lonely(in the sense not alone). ;)

this is easier orally, and reminds me of the old saying...

Once a king always a king, but once a night is enough!
