An owner of a shop sells a woman a parrot, claiming it repeats every word it hears. Months later, after tedious training, the parrot never says a word. Why?

the parrot is deaf, so it doesn't hear anything to repeat

Its a dead parrot, but it has beautiful plumage. The dead don't hear.

Its deaf.

The woman is a mute.

Either the parrot is deaf, the woman is dumb, or both.
