Hello Guys, below is an another set of interesting puzzle. Though this time it requires little mathematics to solve but time allowed is just 5 minutes for all of 5 questions below.
TIP: Solving on a paper using Pen is good, Oral calculation is bit faster but calculating in mind is the fastest. And once you are expert in doing calculations in mind, you will be definitely an above average mathematician.
1. A clock loses exactly ten minutes every hour. If the clock is set correctly at noon, what is the correct time when the clock reads 3:00pm?
2. If a bottle and a cork cost a dollar and a nickel, and the bottle costs a dollar more than the cork, how much does the cork cost?
3. Perform this calculation in your head, mentally adding the numbers as quickly as you can. Start with 1000 and add 40. Now add 1000. Add 30 to that, then add another 1000. Now add 20 to that result. Add another 1000 and finally, add 10 to that. What is the total?
4. You have four chains. Each chain has three links in it. Although it is difficult to cut the links, you wish to make a single loop with all 12 links. What is the fewest number of cuts you must make to accomplish this task?
5. An explorer wishes to cross a barren desert that requires 6 days to cross, but one man can only carry enough food for 4 days. What is the fewest number of other men required to help carry enough food for him to cross?
