Too late…

Question

You make an uneventful turn, yet surprising turn of events

You study, try to learn, from the myriad cuts and dents

Another try, another failure, another spiteful hiss

Another time, another place, you'd surely see what's amiss

One simple question solves it, your humor sorely marred

One simple jape confounds it, your ego briefly scarred

The answer oft lies within your hands, in one version or another

The answer oft lies with crowded bands of sisters, cousins, brothers

Open up this riddle's heart, and see what lies inside

Open up this riddler's mind, to see what does reside.....

Love? I don't really know, since I've never solved a dD riddle before. [Heck, I've barely seen dD around before!

:P] But that's just kinda the first thing that came to mind..... But yeah, I really don't even know how I came up with that......

Not that :D... I usually try to keep it simple, taking a situation or object and spinning the riddle around it like a spider's web. The best approach is to try not to overthink it...

Could it be DNA? You would use a myriad cut to get a blood sample to examine your DNA. DNA is in your hand, but that's where you might cut, and brothers, sisters, and cousins share DNA. Is this right? :help:

@G4L [Yes, it's a weird nickname. Deal wif it.] Hey! Welcome to the Den! We sincerely hope you enjoy the riddles, teasers, games, and other stuff you find here!

However, I would like to request one thing. When you answer riddles, could you please put your answers in a spoiler? It's that little blue box with an 'S' in it. Or the tags are <spoiler='Insert Mandatory Title Here'>Insert Answer Here</spoiler> and just replace the <>'s with [ ]'s. Putting your answer in a spoiler makes it a lot more fun for other riddlers, because they can guess without automatically seeing the answer in a post. Thanks!

Not giving up, just thinking.

not an object, Maybe altercation of some kind.

starting to get a little off track... maybe rethink one of your assumptions?

an apology?

Not that, but that's an interesting take on it...

No, sorry, not that... but welcome to BrainDen!!! And just keep throwing guesses out there (in spoilers so MK doesn't eat you), because even if you don't get the right answer, it feels almost as good when your wrong answer directly leads someone else to the correct one

Blacksmithing?

Opening a Barrel, or maybe a Cooper?

A dented Soda Can?

Just something that kept coming to mind.

:offtopic: Hey dD been awhile. How have you been?

None of those, but I like your first guess a lot.

As promised...

The thing that I am looking for is exactly that.... a thing, that is

:D

No abstract emotions or scenarios but a tangible piece of matter that you can touch, smell, lick, kick, or bang your head against when you get confuzzled by one of plainglazed's word puzzles...

:offtopic: Things are going well on my side of the internet... although work has been crazy busy the last week or two, and I could use some sleep. Speaking of which...... back to work :grumble:

Nothing yet... So maybe a little more help

removed the third set, as it was describing the situation more than the object in question...
