Orbital Riddle

Question

Two rounds of one neither open nor closed,

I am the orbit that everyone knows.

The dogs on my leash unleash ravenous bites,

Steel cages but whet their fine appetites.

My name Sir makes a definitive sound,

What’s given is answer to that which is bound.

Nopes. Geting the idea though. I have a few word plays in the riddle that might help if you can find them.

Nope. Hint: Word play in last two lines may lead to what it is more quickly.

Headslaps coming in 3... 2... 1...

Two circles are formed from a helical course

Upon it, passes planted

Their jingling portends the op'ning of ports

From keychain, access granted

Key Ring

A single metal band wound twice but left open around which keys can turn (orbit). The keys have teeth (ravenous bites) and appetites for cages (steel locks . . . also I like the imagery of cage as a locked enclosure). My name sir (surname) makes a distinctive sound (ring) and my "given" name is answer (key) to that wich is bound (locked doors).

Well done Plasmid. Well done.

Ha! I could hear the head-slap from Taiwan! LOL!! Close enough.
