Question

This is my first post, and probably my first attempt at creating a riddle like this. If I do it wrong I'm sorry, I'll try to fix it! I tried to be vague, but I think there are enough clues to lead you in the right direction. Good luck!

Twas no midsummer's imagination

Which did inspire this agitation

Conspiratorial with baneful three

Man yet lives and cauldron sings

Yet dream did he, and that right well

What did portend? The story tell

Slay the lord, the lady say

Tho not alone, not this day

Pierce the hind, and grasp the token

Merry, seems the mind is broken

Sleep for one, unstirring still

Sound the call and pay the bill

The two reduce to one, by red

Yet one shall not escape the dread

So slay the child and save your skin

The weald remove, the end begin

The stain will hold no matter how

reddened face and furrowed brow

time and time and time you take

til self by self the quietus make

So fight the flight, and fail the fate

til steel conspires to spoil the pate

melancholy and forlorn

at last to fall to one not born

Can anyone tell me what is going on here?

Love the rhyme, so here's one back--

A solid answer do I lack.

But a smirking guess approaches nigh:

The untimely death of Lady Di?

A part is near, and yet the whole is far;

The answer is not found inside that car.

Please read again my baleful, sorrowed song.

I must confess, dear Molly Mae, you're wrong!

There was a slight hint in my response to Molly Mae, but it may take some time to find it. Look closely. Or maybe not so closely. Or maybe both. Safe to say the first two answers have missed the mark by far! I'll start giving better hints soon...

Still nothing? Very well, take some time deciphering another clue...

Most suredly, a dusty death awaits

a yesterday lived out in fear and haste

Creep on, oh petty pace which drives our life!

Beset us with a fate of pain and strife

Poor is the player on the stage who frets

when sound is stilled and all seem to forget

a tale in bloody fury felt and told

when Words are all that's left there to behold

Good luck!

MacBeth?

Indeed. I wondered if that last clue made it a bit too easy.

So what tipped you off to it?

Now how do I mark this thing as solved? I can't find that part!

Now how do I mark this thing as solved? I can't find that part!

Click the button that says "More reply options"

It will take you to a page. On the right side of the text box is a link that says "Manage Topic Poll"

Enter a poll title and at least two poll answers (I usually give the winner and ...) Then just add your reply.
