A mother was going to the park with her son. She saw some old friends and wanted to talk to them. she told her son to play on the playground and she will be back in a little while and walked off.

Two minutes later a man approached the little boy and started to talk to him.

5 minutes later the mother came back but discovered that her son had disappeared (and there was no sign of the man either)

What happened to the little boy?

(i'm still a bit new to this so there might be some holes in this problem)

that man is related to him, i.e his dad, grand dad, brother etc. and he brought the child home thinking hes alone and lost at the park or something.

How about that the "man" was a policeman, who asked the boy where his mother was. When the boy said he didn't know and the policeman couldn't find her, he took the boy to the main area so they could locate the mom.
