It looks like this one proved us wrong, huh?

Nope. The 4 is right below the 5. As already stated, 1 and 8 are in the middle. 2 and 7 are on the sides.

I think the trick is that the middle 2 squares touching a lot of squares have to be 1 and 8 since they have only 1 adjacent number which allows you to put more numbers around them... once you start there, the puzzle virtually solves itself...am I making sense?

You say that but on my first attempt I got:

Which is wrong as 6 and 7 touch.

thats the same puzzle upside down :lol:

Try reverse also...

the squares with consecutive numbers should touch
