There is a table which can sit 4 people. 2 people on the left side, and 2 people on the right side. 4 people were to meet each other on that table, it just so happens that they did not come and leave at the same time. Their order of the arrivals:

When one man came one was left.

When the second man came two were left.

When the third came two were still left.

When the fourth man came two were still left.

When they left the meeting:

When a man left one was left.

When a another man left one was still left.

When a third man left no man was left.

But then after that the last man left.

How is this possible?

First two to sit down sat on "left."

First to leave left from left, second left from right (so one is still "left" on left), third from left (none of left), fourth from right.

I should be a drill sergeant with the left right left stuff here

Call the men A, B, C, D. A and B sat on the left, C and D on the right.

Arrival order was A B C D.

Leaving order was A C B D.

First two men to arrive sat on the left, last two on the right. But when they left, they left like...one from left, one from right, another from left, last from right...

TOM TOM navigation never has this problem!

If all are viewed from a certain direction then the previous answers are right - all left. Unless you are viewing from the opposite side of the table then they are all right, in which case it's wrong. Right?

That has left me confused.

When the first man entered he sat on the left side(one was left).

The next person also sat on the left side(two were left).

The next 2 persons sat on the right(2 are still left).

1 person on the left leaves first, followed by 1 on the right,left and the last one from the right again.
