An old expression from an old friend.

1 - An abbreviated inclination of the cranium is as adequate as a spasmodic movement of the optic to an equine quadruped deprived of it's optical organ!

What is the usual expression?

This one is easier.

2 - Ornithological specimens of identical plumage invariably congregate in the closet proximity!

1:a nod is as useful (good) as a wink to an eyeless (blind) horse (not familiar with this one)
