Guest
The letters A, B, C, D, E, F and G, not necessarily in that order, represents seven consecutive numbers. F is as much less than B as C is greater than D.G is greater than F.B is the middle term.A is 3 greater than D. What is the sequence of letters from the lowest value to the highest value? 0 Guest
Clarification ... sorry guys, the 10 min. time slice has expired. I later realized that the puzzle does not have a unique solution. So, I updated it here as follows. The letters A, B, C, D, E, F and G, not necessarily in that order, represents seven consecutive numbers. F is as much less than B as C is greater than D.G is greater than F.B is the middle term. The difference between A and D is the same as two times the difference between E and A. What is the sequence of letters from the lowest value to the highest value?

0 Guest
My answer for the first puzzle was EFDBCAG (low to high) I could not find other ones that fit all of the conditions. (unless F being as much less than B as C is greater than D means F can be greater than B and C less than D) for new one: DFCBAGE Clarification ... sorry guys, the 10 min. time slice has expired. "F is as much less than B as C is greater than D." doesn't hold in your sequence as well
0 Guest
FGDBECA Your sequence seems ok, but the difference between 'A' and 'D' doesn't make two times the difference between 'E' and 'A'. (I mean in your case, it is '-2' times) The difference between A and D is the same as two times the difference between E and A.

Have a look at my updated puzzle (thread-2).

0 Guest
The letters A, B, C, D, E, F and G, not necessarily in that order, represents seven consecutive numbers. * F is as much less than B as C is greater than D. * G is greater than F. * B is the middle term. * A is 3 greater than D. What is the sequence of letters from the lowest value to the highest value? E F G B D C A this works, but so does F G D B C A E or F D E B C G A etc. Actually, none of your solutions are correct. The first two do not fulfill the first requirement, and the third one fails to satisfy the fourth rule.
