It's supposed to give Pi 3.1416. But this requires us to consider "N" and "Z" as having horizontal symmetry as defined as in the letter "A". It would be clearer to say 'Only leave letters that are asymmetric'

Write out the alphabet starting with J:

JKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZABCDEFGHI

Erase all letters that have left-right symmetry (such as A)

and count the letters in each of the five groups that remain.

Don't see why you say that. The decimal point is not there of course. Otherwise,
