awrite Wilson - your entrant into round two is correct. nicely done. am a little worried about that first one and what I thought was a more commonly known 710. without that understanding, dont think the other two will get it. maybe knowing how to say 710 will help. And yes, am truly enjoying the holiday. Maybe too much so tonight. Hope the kids can see fit to cut the old man some slack tomorrow. Thanks

treat? eat?

hey t_mo - not those but will say that breaking up the lady finger and specifically working off of a lady first is a good direction

absorb?

how do MK - Wilson beat you to this one but I was toying with using your answer in making this clue.

[spoiler=Such a complex web of answers! Forgive me if I'm being redundant, can't look anymore cause its making my head spin!!! ]

Take exit 710 - thinking of 'taking & leaving', a plane? 710 sounds like a flight #

Upper career pace - higher places

Cut and let it rip - 'rent' cd mean tearing thru the air, i.e., takeoff

could mean flight or takeoff

Digest

if you play on "lady finger" this way "digette"

ah, clever mb. still not it though.

Swallow a ladyfinger - digest "digette"

Contest a lighter pairing - a match

Recreate some slack(pant) performance - pantomine

Theater

the second one above is definitely a match. your interpretaion of slack is also clever and certainly the kind of thing I've done with these just not the intended answer - this time.

sorry, not what I have in mind, mojobrain. and sorry for the headspinning - kinda

Golf?

Because am thinking that

Birdie?

??

okay, your answer to the forth one is correct (see update below for a very slight variation) The ladybird clue was what started this whole concept. At one point I had your answer for this second round group of three playing around with green, club, iron, wedge as the potential other clues. In the end went a different direction only to realize afterwards your answer still fit perfectly; maybe even better. So, long story longer than need be, your second round answer is not what I'm now after.

HINT for the first line']"seven ten"

Take exit 710 -

Upper career pace - speed

Cut and let it rip - rent

Swallow a ladyfinger - bird

Contest a lighter pairing - match

Recreate some slack performance - play

Popular blue donkey - democratic

Soak in a glass of seawater - drink

Learn to collect a bunch - gather

Never been so happy to get "the finger". Knew it had to be in there, but couldn't get the pg rated word. We go in more for two digits over here

Really made me laugh.

Away? or Route?
