Getting back to half a word of half a circle, semi, -em being a form of -type, arch- is a semi-circular shape, each of which is half of the word archetype. It's unique by itself, being a model, or sample. A model can be, and usually is, a fake (i.e. a model of a cake you might be in the window of a bakery). They are worked from & there are generally rules against touching them.
