Well hello DD, fancy seeing you here. Right and right, of course. I like the addition of the explanations (but not necessary). Just noticed I kinda messed up the word count on that 2D but it didn't seem to bother you.

Really nice to see you made another one of these. I thought I'd add explanations so the people that have never done cryptic crosswords could see how they work and hopefully jump in. I'm going to work this one offline today so that it gets wider exposure and hopefully lots of participation. I know how hard these are to build from scratch and I have to say that this one is shaping up to be even better than your last one :)

Thanks DD, learned alot about setting these from that first one. Started with a symmetrical grid this time and worked filling it from long words to short. Much better. The real trick though is to not make the clues too obscure (which is easy to do) and yet still challanging.

vibrate

to contend = vie

[handling] indicates that the previous word will contain the next word

unruly child = brat

[vie] handling [brat] -> vibrate

go back and forth = vibrate

Correct, sir. Am thinking you may have worked some other clues as well. Thanks for the bump and answer, of course.

Awry

Nothing is more refreshing than working on your puzzles .. this one is tougher though .. :unsure:

will work on it and get back :)

Thanks so much, rsn. May have to get back into the wai game soon but have enjoyed these. Am afraid I must say no to you response tho. See ya soon, I hope.

Been looking at this all morning..jeez it's a toughie!

Yes, that's it Wilson.

warlord was meant to be Greek god of war Ares commanding church ends and crosses to bear is a cryptic definition.
