Question

almost forgot the birthday puzzle! :)

here goes:

armor worn by many

though only for some is it useful

one's escape, another's guard

many have a bias of it

those that are evil

use it for their own good

yet the good one is the one to pay

still, good men use it

and whether good or evil, everyone pays

nope and no

armor worn by many

one's escape, another's guard

every user exploits it differently

there are those who are evil

they use it for their own good

good that all men pay for

still, good men use it too

and still, whether good or evil, everyone pays

primary class in the balance

past, present, future, no end

no end to the use, both by intelligent

and even the unintelligent...imagine that!

homophones:two completely different uses of the word are described here

edit: quote goof

scales?

you got it!!

armor worn by many-scales on reptiles

one's escape, another's guard

every user exploits it differently-examples: there's camouflage and (going into mythology-type-subject) dragon scales are supposed to be hard

there are those who are evil

they use it for their own good--in ancient times, money was weighed on scales, and some cheaters made false scale-balances

good that all men pay for--everyone had to pay the extra amount

still, good men use it too--some barters were honest too

and still, whether good or evil, everyone pays

primary class in the balance--scales are an example of primary/first class levers

past, present, future, no end--it's been useful for, like, forever :)

no end to the use, both by intelligent--humans use them for, you guessed it, trading and weighing and such

and even the unintelligent...imagine that!--this is the "homophone" part: reptiles have scales!
