Question

post-514-12718154694577.png

I believe this accurately represents most browsers that people mainly use nowadays. What do you guys think?

Also post what browser you are using, and how you think it compares to the image. I personally use Google Chrome.

(not in jokes b/c although this is funny, it is also mind-bogglingly accurate)

I've used IE, firefox and Chrome...

IE, does what it has to do, pretty fast load times but the pages tend to take some time to load.

Firefox, pretty fast loading pages but it has a HUGE drawback.... Very loooong startup time when you have plenty of add-ons.

Google Chrome, pretty fast loading times, the pages display pretty fast, but it still lacks some add-ons. I'm sure eventually it grow into an overall great browser.

Personally I use Firefox or Chrome, IE is out for me. Firefox is probably mostly used because of it's HUGE extension library... But Chrome is a bit more efficient.

Just MHO...

Firefox is definitely the way I go. Add-ons like Firebug do help that decision for me since I have been doing some browser programming for work and Firebug is really your friend for that sort of thing. (Plus, the admin nerfs IE such that tabbing doesn't work (I don't know why) and we only upgraded to IE 7 (7!) 6 months ago! )

My supervisor often uses Chrome and seems to like it. I haven't tried Chrome, though I have heard good things about it. Of course, I know that most of the people who will likely use the web apps I develop will use IE, so I do sometimes have to test the layout and functionality in IE...it almost never looks the same or works the same way. I definitely agree that IE loads really slowly in comparison to FF. Maybe there are good things about IE8, but I haven't tried it, so I don't know.

I also use Firefox for it's operability. I used IE for a while, but it's got so many bugs and security holes in it that you could drive a freight train through it and nobody would even notice it. I generally don't use addons with Firefox, unless it's really required (java, etc), and I end up having the speed I want. Oh, for all you chrome users? The reason it's so fast is because it actually stores local copies of the website...which is, again, a security issue, and if you delete your cookies on a regular basis, then it will probably interfere with your load times.

I've never used Chrome or Opera, so i can't really critique (did i use that word right?) them, Safari is an apple product and i generally try to avoid them (:P) so between FF and IE, I'd choose FF, better experiences and am using it now.

I've used IE, Firefox, and Chrome (as well as one run through with safari but it doesn't really count) and to me Chrome is the best. I am not one for add-ons, and the homepage (which you can customize) is awesome.

Just wondering: what would go under other?

Just wondering: what would go under other?

I just Googled "internet browser", and came up with quite a few browsers that aren't on this list. However, I doubt anyone on here is using them.
