Question

A king dined with his sister, his friend and his friends wife.

All of them are greedy and the only way to stop them from fighting is to

give them an equal share of food.

During dessert, the cook came out with only 3 pies,

how do you divide it equally to save them from strife.

P.S. no more pies can be baked

cut 1/4 out of each pie so that you have 3-->3/4 pies and 3-->1/4 pies. you will now have equal shares for 4 people

each of the others (sister, friend, friend's wife) will get a 3/4 pie and the king will get 3(1/4) pie or 3/4 pie as well.

1. There were only 3 people. The King's sister is friends wife. So no trouble dividing 3 pies.

2. Cut each pie in 4 equal parts. And each get 3 of them.

Take your pick!
