Say the minute hand (Y) and the hour hand (Z) are both on 12:00. That would make Y=0 and Z=0, leaving the second hand to pass between 3 and 4 (it's not specified that the minute hand or the hour hand, themselves, had to be between 3 and 4). If Y=0 and Z=0, then 2(Y) also = 0, so 2(Y)=Z.

I guess that's kinda cheating, but it's all I got.

I guess I was a bit unclear. The time has to be between 3:00 and 4:00
