The base-10 sequence 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, ...

written in base 5 is 1, 2, 4, 13, 31, 112, 224, 1003, ....

This might be an even trickier riddle if you include the 224 term and ask for the 1003 term. B))

I agree my solution is not so elegant .. but how about ..

if we design a floor function [y] as:

[y] = 0.4667x^5 - 7.1667x^4 + 42.333x^3 - 116.33x^2 + 146.7x - 65

Then y satisfies all the numbers for x= 1 to 6 and then for x=7 => y=418

But I totally agree that Bonanova's solution is way elegant than mine :)
