Hot Headed

Question

plainglazed    65

Some of you here may remember this sort

Solve the six below and then I'll report

I come before dinner, and then we drank

Prior to surf and ski, but let's be frank

Maybe not your type since those elite I avert

Or when craving the unusual, let them eat dirt

Spoke of exasperation or relief that it's passed

But to the ancients they list me second to last

English it's still, but mostly of yore

May be in a name, if quaint is in store

Forced to hide so has become quite keen

Giving an edge, if you know what I mean

It's around between the North and the East

Been a long time, certainly not in the least

:D

put them al side-by-side ??

It sounds like you've noticed this one little clue

Left as direction for what next to do

The title's the key like the ones from before

But different a little, in the end it says more

EDIT: dD - feel free to post what you have if you like, or not...

Appose-able oppose-able thumbs

Yes indeed, that is the little clue I referred to. APPOSE, the heads of each answer to the riddles. Still the final answer to discover.

Thanks to all who played along. Sorry if a little anticlimactic in the end. Getting back in the swing. I certainly enjoyed. Thanks again.
