Question

Four guys are playing bridge. In the middle of a dealing, the dealers phone rings. Once he gets off the phone, he forgets where he left off. His friends are getting mad because they will have to redeal. However, to impress his friends he tells them "Without counting your cards, or the cards in the deck, I can guarentee you I can deal the rest of these cards out perfectly"

Is this possible?

For those that don't what bridge is, the dealing is as follows:

Dealer starts with the person to his left and goes in a clockwise circle until all 52 cards are dealt out, giving 13 cards to each player.

Then 13X4=52 ... so why does he need to count in the first place?

Because lets say he deals

1,2,3,4

1,2,3,4

1,2 == Phone Rings

Well to countinue dealing properly he has to deal from #3, yet he does not remember. Any other person, people will have more than 13 and others less than 13.

You are going to be off by one card because the last card goes to the dealer. But that's the solution deal from the bottom, starting at dealer going counter-clockwise.

He simply deals counter-clockwise starting with the person on his right while dealing from the bottom of the deck.
