0 Guest
What number comes next? 8,5,4,9,? The answer: 4,4,8,3,2,5,7,3,1... 8 + 5, = 13 (1+3) = 4 , 5+ 4 = 9, 4 + 9 = 13 (1+3) =4 so the next number in sequence is 4 followed by another 4 and then an
0 Guest
I am sorry to seem like a spoilsport (I am one, but don't like to seem so,) but I think that any series for which one is only given the first four terms must be explainable by a large number of equally valid and sometimes ingenious solutions. 0 Guest
jerbil is right with any finite number list there is an infinite number of equations to support it and an equally infinite number of different following terms.
0 Guest
Of course the less terms of a sequence that is given, the more likely that there will be multiple solutions. In this case, the desired answer was numbers listed in alphabetical order. This was given by one of the members above.
