I can't help but think it has to be like what the guy said with the sword and the champagne, only the widow's "knife" is a bottle opener; then you don't twist the cork out, you pull straight out; the strife is obviously the fizz/bubbles, then the absence of wrath is the "widow" getting a little tipsy and forgetting her lost partner??? going WAY out there for this one

Not sure if you need to go further out or reel it back in, but that isn't it either.

you don't ever use a bottle opener (corkscrew) on champagne, because you could cause an injury if the corkscrew were to shoot out with the cork due to expelling the gas (pressure). You remove the cage and gently twist & pull the cork until the pressure allows it to 'pop' easily out.

-_- See, the Den is quite educational! ;)

Hey t_l, haven't been around for a while but have been enjoying your riddle in small bits now and again.

escargot? or maybe conch? or geoduck? but like the snails best with the twist and gradual path reference.

Sorry, none of those. Though I do like the conch when it's served as a sopa de caracol. (ay!)

1.Opening a jar..like when they are stuck and you peck in the lid with a knife.

2. Neck of a trutle neck sweater...fighting to get it on

3. Throat...the vamp of a shoe, pulling the 'tongue' to get them on

Or try.........

None of those. & the pie reference really was just because I'll be making a lot of pies when Thanksgiving gets here! ^_^

If you're interested, I did give a bit of a hint on the last page. And if you're not, that's good too!
