  1. Spoiler

Well, if all of them are telling the truth except for Dick, it must be Dick. Both of his statements could be false, while everyone else has given a truthful statement. Therefore, Dick must be lying, which means he is the only one who could be a liar.

Incidentally - "At least" three of the brothers tell the truth 100%. Could this mean that all of them are telling the truth, and Eddie just committed suicide?

It hurts to know that Flamebirde was not on board. :(

Just in this case here, if he had saved me instead, nobody would have died. Even if Nana had chosen somebody else to kill, it would have been 3v1, and I would have called her out, and it would have been possible to lynch/kill both of us on the following days/nights (bona can block the remaining suspect N3 if flamebirde is dead).

Either way, plasmid's method was foolproof since the worst case ends in a tie. It would have been 100% foolproof if we had asked Flamebirde if he had used his vote manip in D1. It's weird how nobody thought to ask.

@araver random question: how does it appear on the NP when someone's been targeted for a kill by multiple roles?

(^i can't figure out how to change font color on mobile)

That is what you said when you originally suggested it, and I'm sure everyone agreed with the logic of it (even Nana). As planned, you must have immediately known that the baddie's ODTG vote manip was gone... which is what makes it even stranger that you didn't speak up. Deeply ingrained Mafia reflexes/paranoia, I suppose?

I didn't say anything because then I thought about the save's 50/50 to lose their vote the next day. When I went for the tie originally, I thought it would be a sure fire way to gain an advantage, but after the lynch I was left wondering about other possible vote manips.

For the record, you had me fooled -- I figured Plasmid had to be a baddie considering everyone else had claimed, but then he claimed too and I saw the logic in his plan.

I think Dolores may have been too powerful in the end. Having 2 different vote manips and a lynch save, on top of a kill and a save -- that rendered the baddie's vote manip practically useless in the endgame when roles were revealed. The "once per game" aspect of the actions never mattered because 1. I didn't use anything N1 and 2. The game was 2 nights long. The only way to neuter the role would be to block, which no sane person would do as discussed earlier (no one would use the block ability N1 for this exact reason: you might hit Dolores). But this may all be because of an inactive Indy: that was the only force opposing the goodies that could effectively counter a known Dolores (RID kill, and the block+save to a lesser extent).

  3. this was one of the situations I had wanted when I went for the tie. Sure, it let the baddie control the lynch, but if he used his vote manip there then in the endgame he would lose since I had both still hidden up my sleeve (of course, that all depended on whether or not I lived). The other option was that the tie went through and no one died, leading to more time for the goodies to figure out the game.

That was a good play by Plasmid at the end; it clearly worked out. Congrats to him and to all the goodies!

Also, rip Aura who died twice in two consecutive phases :(

  4. Well, saying "I'm a goodie" is literally useless. This "tail end" stuff is more or less a solid claim, at least.

no point in not claiming now; I'm Dolores.

  5. On the other hand, we could go for a tie today. It's a guarantee that no one will be lynched, because the baddie won't waste his ODTG vote manipulation on D1 (if he does, then it just helps us with tomorrow's lynch).

  6. Well, either way I want to hear something from Phil/Aura 2.0, and apparently my vote on Bona isn't doing much good, so I'll vote Phil/Aura too. At least this way maybe we'll get some information.

  7. Her knowing her old role is quite abbot of an advantage with only seven roles; especially if (as stated above) she's actually the Indy or the baddie.

On the other hand, better that than no player at all.

Is it a rule that you need to post publicly before N1 to be active?

I either didn't know that or was late. ;)

No, it's impossible; indy is invulnerable N1. Can't tell if feigning ignorance is a ploy to trick us into thinking you're not indy.

AND you asked before if indy's trap prevents voting when the rules state that the trap doesn't silence. What to think?

Not sure how this works, but shouldn't we be going after indy first? Or is a simultaneous goodie and indy win possible?

    Tentatively, my vote:

    1. Gavinksong - voting for Flamebirde
    2. Flamebirde - voting for bonanova
    3. Nana77 - voting for plasmid
    4. plasmid - voting for Nana
    5. phil1882
    6. bonanova

Never implied that you weren't active. I know Bona, Nana, and Plas have played with Aura before (I'm pretty sure about Bona, but not certain; the other two have for sure). I don't know about the rest of the roster.

Silence != vote block. I wanted to be sure. Generally a trap is block + save + can't be lynched + player can't talk + player can't vote. I needed to check if the other aspects of a typical trap were still present.

re: Indy being invulnerable N1: you got me, I didn't read the OP closely enough.

And yes, it would be ideal to kill the Indy now, but unless you have a good read, we can't do much.

one more thing: could you do me a favor and change the colors of the votes so that each person has a different color? I would do it, but mobile makes it rather difficult.

  9. Well, this is interesting at least. Nana's claimed one of two roles, keeping herself from the RID but still somewhat clearing herself. We won't know if the Indy acted, but I wasn't blocked, so we know the Indy didn't act on me (or at least I know that; you guys have to trust me here).

My bet is that the baddie is either Nana, Bona or Plas. Whoever it was had to be active and had to know that Aura is experienced/otherwise a good target. It's unlikely that it would be random, in my opinion.

I'll vote Bona for now, just to get some conversation going.

By by the way, is there any reason you said "Never vote for the person who's voting for you" and then immediately did just that? :P

Of course, we could have gotten ridiculously lucky and Aura was the Indy. But that's obviously pretty unlikely.

  10. Present! Also, keep in mind that (barring any saves) if we mislynch day 1 then day 2 will be a 2v1v1, with the Indy likely trapping himself, with the baddie and 2 goodies active in the lynch. The baddie will then remove one vote for himself, making the game 1 goodie vs 1 Indy leading to a RID kill N2 ending the game with a Indy win.

this can be avoided if the baddie doesn't remove a vote D2, but as he has no incentive either way (in both cases, he dies) then there's no way to tell. Generally, though, and Indy win is more preferable than a goodie win for the informed minority.

and, of course, this all depends on everyone knowing everything. To avoid this scenario where goodies cannot win, Hector should pick N2 kill and should target his best guess for the baddie N2 (since Indy will likely selftrap).

Lastly, this is pretty unlikely because the goodies have vote manips too, among a lynch save and other such backup tools. But, should Dolores die, this is our best option.

    Questions:

Does the Indy's trap stop the target from being able to vote?

Do RID/NK/goodie kills happen simultaneously? i.e. If Dr. ford targets Hector for a kill, do both die (if no one else interferes)?

Here's the series for this problem: the sum of all numbers from 0 to some number k-1 of ((k-n)^2)n where k is the number of layers. So, the sum of all numbers from zero to one million of ((1000000-n)^2)*n is the answer to the problem. But how to do it without a calculator?

Nope, I retract that, it should be

    Spoiler

Series from n=0 to k of n(n+1)/2. My friend pointed out to me that it wasn't a modified version of the "add up all the numbers from one to one hundred" problem, it was literally exactly that problem. I still have no idea how I could work it out by hand.

  13. If calculators can be used, then the problem is simple. Without a program or calculator, though...

    Spoiler

Each individual term is the series from n=0 to some number X of n. So X=3 would give 3+2+1 or six atoms on the third layer. That part's simple enough.

Each layer can also be defined as 1+2+3+... n where n is how many layers down the tetrahedron it is.

The question is how you can add up all the layers. It would be something like (1+2+3+... 1000000)+ (1+2+3+... 999999) +... 1.

Alternatively, it could become 1000000+2(999999)+3(999998)+... 1000000(1); a modified version of the classic "add up all the numbers from one to one hundred" problem.

D1 I caught a claim from Molly as the shopowner - block.

I followed with a COP claim.

N1 I was blocked, I thought by Molly.  I said he must have not got my message though I got his.  He said he did if it was Easy, but not like Sunday Morning...this is from a Commodores song, led by Lionel Ritchie.  I said it was on the Lionel Ritchie tip, saying it was easy, if he thought he got it he did.

But why Lionel Ritchie? Are the Commodores significant, or was it just a random song? For a moment, I thought one of you was claiming indy because you mentioned songs, but then I was like "Why would anyone claim indy D1?"

Apparently part of becoming a good mafia player is knowing your music. :P

  15. Man. I told Araver that there was a chance Molly was the Indy and just claimed shopowner to get the real shopowner to our, but I gave that like a five percent chance.

Overall, I messed up pretty badly. I felt sure that MiKi was the Indy; her outing would probably have lead to a Molly lynch... but to be honest, Molly completely played me. I was incredibly surprised when both MiKi and Mo flipped goodie, because I thought for sure that Molly was a goodie.

well played, all; sorry to the goodies who I failed, and congrats to both Bonanova and Molly for an incredibly well played game.

also, I'm still incredibly confused with this Lionel Richie nonsense.

Thanks, but let's not count our chickens just yet. ;)

Whoever you are, are posing to be or not to be, you claim, and want us to believe, the goodies have lost?

From your evident sadness I'm leaning toward your being a goodie. If you can't win, no matter what, then ... you would lose nothing by ... venturing a guess as to who you think will win.

Care to share? Or are we still being conned?

It's clear enough who you are. Not really much of a surprise there... but I still have a shot at this. Let's make a deal- I won't RID kill you tonight, and you won't kill me tonight, which would result in a goodie win. Or, you don't kill tonight, I don't kill tonight, then tomorrow we lynch Molly and then kill each other the next night, resulting with a tie Indy and baddie win.

  17. No, actually the goodies just lost. My reaction to Bonanova's flash vote was a mistake; I thought Panther was a goodie...

No, Molly, even if I were the mayor it's still game over. If I'm right, Bonanova still has his vote manip.

    Well played, Bonanova.
