  1. For starters I'm sounding triumphant.

    Participating in which I tell.

    An emotionally uncertain primary

and now coming back down as well.

  2. If we are taking about chess pieces I would have to say the Bishop.. Never alone (always at least one other piece(King)) and the only piece to stay on one color...

yeah, think you guys have the answer

    game.

  3. well done plainglazed!

the answer is "fiber optic cable" or just "fiber optics"

for those of you curious about the clues:

Before there was me, 29 stood for the task, (29 is the atomic number for copper, which is being replaced by fiber optics in telecom & datacom)

We often stretch side by side, though I will outlast. (most parts of the world are using both copper and fiber, but fiber is the way of the future)

I can only go so far, and than an arc I must face, (fiber cables can only be so long, and then a fusion splice or electrical arc is used to join it to another cable)

Across long distances I go, carrying my parcels place to place. (data is carried in waves of light in fiber optic cables)

Sometimes I bring to you, other times I take it on the road, (2 way transfer of data)

It is you, not me, that chooses the contents of my load. (pretty straightforward)

Well done by you as well.

"parcels" and where that led and misled me.

    Ended up helping.

  4. Al Gore, the founder of the internet before he discovered Global Warming?

Dont get me wrong, I greatly admire the man. No politics tho!

    or

    the internet

  5. You are right. Thanks to all who participated. Alot of fun. For those who are still in the game....

    Spoiler for a last HINT:

    Life is too short.

Take it for all it's worth.

Take a Chance, Take a ride.

Be happy with whatever comes forth.

  6. agree. the title does, too.

But does the second part require two answers? Who and what they are holding?

    are both rulers?

    May be

Pope and sceptor (but am thinking it wouldn't be pope)

  7. I dont' know why, but a couple times I've read it and "the bible" popped into my head.

tons of lessons, take it or leave it, about life, etc etc.

second stanza doesn't fit too well though.

    fantastic first riddle though...

    Thanks!

Chess_Vixen's "Book" is merely on the right track but the one word answer to the riddle(s) is not a book's title.

  8. OP Virgin Go easy on me is where i got newbie cus people who havnt played are called virgins so u go easy on them don't know what OP is. You told us to look at the thread title right?

Oh, I see. The title has nothing to do with it. It's just embarrassing. I was referring to a comment I had made about the structure of the riddle. Really two riddles with the same answer.

  9. It has to do with a book and a newbie and if my last guess was close then could it be reading the rulebook to a newbie before playing a board game?

nothing to do with a newbie. let me know where you got that so i can address if needed. thanks and keep it up. think you're almost there.

  10. crosswords? a puzzle book?

'fraid not but I love crosswords. Don't know if I can continue doing them tho with my current Den addiction and all. Only so much puzzle time.

  11. Do you mean I should be more specific? A certain type..or one in particular?

No, not a certain type or title. Just book itself is close. Dont know how to say more without giving the answer.

  12. oh so close!

This riddle kinda has two parts both pointing to the same one word answer. The top part is more for you right-brainers; use your imagination. The last four lines should be easier for left-brainers; with a little POW thrown in there.
