  1. Hi Brainiac & welcome to the Den!

If these younglings haven't scared you off yet, you should do just fine here. If they did scare you off, come back anyway, they're really quite harmless (except in mafia - they will virtually shank you) & there are other games & mind games to play.

*quickly pulls flamebird in front of her to shield against MiKi's taser* (Sorry flamebird, you'll be gone anyway.)

Hope you enjoy - lots of interesting characters around here, whether you like gaming, logic problems, debates, riddles, etc. ;)

  2. Fare

    Pay the price

Fare: What you pay to ride (bus, taxi, etc.)

    And you become

Fare: Which you then are to the driver

    What you eat

Fare: The typical food (Mediterranean fare, etc.)

    As you proceed

Fare: How do you fare/How are you doing/How are you getting on?

& the title: Impartial is a synomym of Fair, which is a homophone of Fare

  3. I get the feeling this isn't a typical "what am I" type.

only the suspicion that, given the title, the first line might be "fare/fair". But I've got nothing on the others

All lines point to the word "Fare"

    Yes, indeed. :)

  4. Bolero

Bolero is a latin dance form that first originated in Spain. Spanish version is in 3/4 time. The Cuban form evolved separately & is in 2/4 (or sometimes 4/4).

Cuban bolero "fusions" with other rhythm, dance, & lyrical music types produced a wide range of music considered a type of bolero.

A bolero is also a type of "shrug" jacket or shawl, usually a more formal or tailored variety.

Balero (ball-AIR-oh), a ball-in-a-cup game, will sound similar to mispronounced bolero (bowl-AIR-oh).

  5. What about...

Instead of thinking of dances, what about genres?

Jazz could work for some clues. It fuses American and African elements (but that's not really two nations). There's "jazz hands" if that's the gesture you're looking for. It sounds a little like "jacks" - a game of balls and cups?

    I'm stretching here.

A good thought, but no. Though genre (in general) is part of the right track, it probably won't get you to the answer. And definitely a different game. ^_^

  6. I doubt I could narrow it down to 1 favorite. Instead I have favorite authors because I like most of what they've written - whether for entertainment value, good storytelling ability, etc. And many books I enjoy but that wouldn't be "favorites".

Favorite genres are generally sci-fi & fantasy, though more fantasy & its sub-genres. Joined Goodreads a while back & consequently have many more books/authors on my "to be read" list.

  7. Come, dance with me, now

    Child of two nations evolved

    Combination, styles confused

    Resulting in many songs

Some know me by a gesture

Though more formal as I am

    Wearing well about your shape

One last clue, I end with this-

A game of balls and cups is

    Not my name.
