  1. It Appears to be Over

I know I have seriously missed getting onto BD. Unfortunately life got really busy & my fun computer time has sunk to an all-time low. (Doesn't help that I can't access from work anymore either. Or that all my creative ability has been sucked into the void of work so I haven't had anything worth riddle-writing about.) Going to try & get back more often & find a few interesting things to riddle about though.
  2. Blonde Jokes

A blind man wanders into an all girls biker bar by mistake. He finds his way to a bar stool and orders some coffee. After sitting there for awhile, he yells to the waiter, “Hey, you wanna hear a blonde joke?” The bar immediately falls absolutely silent. In a very deep, husky voice, the woman next to him says, “Before you tell that joke, sir, I think it is only fair — given that you are blind — that you should know five things: The bartender is a blonde girl with a baseball bat. The bouncer is a blonde girl. I’m a 6 foot tall, 175 lb. blonde woman with a black belt in karate. The woman sitting next to me is blonde and a professional weightlifter. The lady to your right is blonde and a professional wrestler. Now, think about it seriously, Mister. Do you still wanna tell that joke?” The blind man thinks for a second, shakes his head, and mutters, “No… Not if I’m gonna have to explain it five times.”
  3. The Eagle has soared

The word "hero" can mean many things, depending on who you ask. Neil Armstrong was a hero to many. A pilot, a Navy officer, an engineer, a test pilot, an astronaut. The first man to set foot and walk on the Earth's moon. A good man. To me, he was also a fellow Boilermaker and band alum. My parents were still in school when Apollo 11 landed on the moon. I remember them both telling me about it when I was younger. It was one of those defining moments of history that anyone who experienced remembers where they were and what they were doing. As a graduate of Purdue, I have always been proud that Neil was a fellow alumnus. He was gracious enough throughout his life to continue his association with and support of the university. I had the privilege of meeting him once, when he was on campus for a Homecoming weekend. He came to watch Friday afternoon marching band practice. That's something I'll be telling my own kids and grandkids one day. Thank you, Neil, for your service and bravery. Godspeed. May you soar among the heavens, in peace.

If you would like to, please share your memories of the Apollo 11 landing or a time you met Neil Armstrong.

  8. Sorry, guys

I'm sorry, you're not allowed to leave. Good luck with "real life" & the "real world". Sometimes they do have to intrude. (Quite rude of them, really.) Wander back when you can.

  10. One Up Me

Stripes out of fashion - stuck out like a bagel in the donut case.
  11. Words to Live By

Well ... see sig below. Other words of wisdom / quotes about life & living I like - "The blackest night must end in dawn, the light dispel the dreamer's fear..." -- Anne McCaffrey, Dragonflight "... we are the people our parents warned us about!" -- Jimmy Buffett "When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace." -- Jimi Hendrix Then of course, there's the one about taking life with a wedge of lime & a shot of tequila. (akin to lemons, lemonade ... nevermind)

  21. Under Control

  22. Fantasy Football

gvg, you can do the (long, tedious, annoying) process of setting up your entire possible draft order & auto-pick settings so you'll have something along the lines of the kind of players you want. If you don't, you go by ESPN's auto-draft order & settings.
  23. Help with cryptics

Fair warning - I'm not really very good at these, so many are guesses that made sense (to me).
  24. One Up Me
