  1. All guaranteed to make you sick, rot your teeth, & leave you slavering for more, but alas, not the answer I'm looking for.
  2. Nope! Excuse me while I go find something to eat that will rot my teeth ...
  3. I doubt that that is it, but first thing I thought of. How have you been? On your way but not the answer. Mostly fine, got to see the fam (blizzard, sick nephews, flu, fun for all!) & had some slight crises at work that were no fun, but getting back on track & caught up with life. As you know my fantasy fb year wasn't so fab, but at least most of my (real) teams are in the playoffs.

    Mmm

Well dip me in heaven & turn me upside down! Then you can call me nice.
  5. That was actually ... the last. You could say it sort of is, but it's not (the answer). Sorry to have gone MIA in the midst of a riddle. Was rather unexpectedly with exceedingly little internet access. Please forgive & keep trying!
  6. Re-write! Second stanza added. lost in the dark first child of mind bright light shining purpose defined stories unending fable of lore first of many lost no more
  7. I like it, though I'm uncertain if it *quite* fits the last line. Then again, my intended answer is probably also a *tad* nebulous on that front. Am thinking I should add a couple lines.
  8. It is so good to have some time for the Den again! Missed it much have I. I'm sure the reason yours are a little rusty is because I've been gone so long.
  9. Not the answer I'm looking for, sorry. Hope exams & such are going/went well! (& feel better!)
  10. Quote for now: “Look at everything always as though you were seeing it either for the first or last time: Thus is your time on earth filled with glory.” — Betty Smith, from A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

  11. I know I have seriously missed getting onto BD. Unfortunately life got really busy & my fun computer time has sunk to an all-time low. (Doesn't help that I can't access from work anymore either. Or that all my creative ability has been sucked into the void of work so I haven't had anything worth riddle-writing about.) Going to try & get back more often & find a few interesting things to riddle about though.
  12. A blind man wanders into an all girls biker bar by mistake. He finds his way to a bar stool and orders some coffee. After sitting there for awhile, he yells to the waiter, “Hey, you wanna hear a blonde joke?” The bar immediately falls absolutely silent. In a very deep, husky voice, the woman next to him says, “Before you tell that joke, sir, I think it is only fair — given that you are blind — that you should know five things: The bartender is a blonde girl with a baseball bat. The bouncer is a blonde girl. I’m a 6 foot tall, 175 lb. blonde woman with a black belt in karate. The woman sitting next to me is blonde and a professional weightlifter. The lady to your right is blonde and a professional wrestler. Now, think about it seriously, Mister. Do you still wanna tell that joke?” The blind man thinks for a second, shakes his head, and mutters, “No… Not if I’m gonna have to explain it five times.”

  14. If you would like to, please share your memories of the Apollo 11 landing or a time you met Neil Armstrong.
  15. The word "hero" can mean many things, depending on who you ask. Neil Armstrong was a hero to many. A pilot, a Navy officer, an engineer, a test pilot, an astronaut. The first man to set foot and walk on the Earth's moon. A good man. To me, he was also a fellow Boilermaker and band alum. My parents were still in school when Apollo 11 landed on the moon. I remember them both telling me about it when I was younger. It was one of those defining moments of history that anyone who experienced remembers where they were and what they were doing. As a graduate of Purdue, I have always been proud that Neil was a fellow alumnus. He was gracious enough throughout his life to continue his association with and support of the university. I had the privilege of meeting him once, when he was on campus for a Homecoming weekend. He came to watch Friday afternoon marching band practice. That's something I'll be telling my own kids and grandkids one day. Thank you, Neil, for your service and bravery. Godspeed. May you soar among the heavens, in peace.
  16. The ones I can think of at the moment -
  17. On the Spurs' court road long ago a wave of beverage it did flow where parliament lived Eight had died An Act of God so they surmised Note: This really is an esoteric bit of trivia.
  18. I'm sorry, you're not allowed to leave. Good luck with "real life" & the "real world". Sometimes they do have to intrude. (Quite rude of them, really.) Wander back when you can.

    One Up Me

Stripes out of fashion - stuck out like a bagel in the donut case.
  21. Well ... see sig below. Other words of wisdom / quotes about life & living I like - "The blackest night must end in dawn, the light dispel the dreamer's fear..." -- Anne McCaffrey, Dragonflight "... we are the people our parents warned us about!" -- Jimmy Buffett "When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace." -- Jimi Hendrix Then of course, there's the one about taking life with a wedge of lime & a shot of tequila. (akin to lemons, lemonade ... nevermind)
  22. That'd be the last 2. & it does sound yummy!
