my vote is we keep moving. We can make camp together when it gets closer to morning. But at this point, I see no reason to go slow.

I think Dawh's solution is the best, I can't beat it. Unless someone thinks they can do better, I vote we use that one and try it as soon as possible.

I've found 3 different ways to make it with 21 turns, but I'm not counting an initial turn to start. U - I don't understand your statement "Assuming initially you need to turn to get to either way you're going". Does that mean that our first move (from block "0" to block "1" in the example) will take 1.25 seconds regardless of whether we go N (up) or E (right)? If that is the case, then all 3 of my solutions involve 22 turns. Can anyone find a quicker route?
