symmetrical so moving the matchsticks up works too =)

Solved it byb only moving 2!
move the top 2 to the bottoms!

the question says to move them so that the fish is facing the OTHER direction, not ANother direction... Down is most certainly not the "other" direction referred to...

You can make it swim downwards by just moving 2 sticks

this was stolen from the book "deltora quest 3" book 1 when king lief is about to be killed by monsters called granous
imagine a your life depended on this brainteaser!
