"My dear Mr. Bonanova,

Ever since we first met here in this den of brains, you have been to me a source of enlightenment and inspiration. Now, you have shown me that it is time to revisit my enigmatic roots, remaining

It seems I've inspired your enigmasticity beyond my powers of discernment.

Still thinking.

Alright, resorting to major hint dropping:

The title contains 3 hints:

A very literal hint. Not being enigmatic about being enigmatic at all.

A very literary hint. The allusion should be easily recognizable, although technically not exactly correct.

The choice of who the line is directed towards is referring to the type of puzzles said puzzle maker was posting at the time, an example

Hope that will get the ball rolling :ph34r: .

EDIT:

My name is Sherlock Holmes. It is my business to know what other people don't necessarily here know. - My11531667.5353My5To1974815Do10219.

Nice PG.

Once you eliminate the impossible whatever remains no matter how improbable, must be the truth.

What you do in this world is of no consequence. The question is what can you make people believe you have done.

"90"

It seems to me that a set of one or two digits, in sequential order, represent one word from each famous phrase.

"Education never ends, Watson. It is a series of lessons, with the greatest for the last."

Ed=education

10=never
En=ends
74=Watson
53=it/is (typo, maybe?)
A=A
34=series?
8=of?
Le=lessons
74=with
90=the
Gr=greatest
9=for?
90=the
57=last.

And the significance of the blue numbers?

Good question Bonanova. I haven't been able to figure that one out either.

I cannot live without brain-work. What else is there to live for?

On the right track, but actually...

1-3 numbers represent the

beginning of a word, not the entire word ;).

And the significance of the blue numbers?

That is the crux of the issue, isn't it? I have faith in you BrainDenizens so I'm going to refrain from dropping hints about that just yet ;P.

Okay, fine, a hint...

...may involve delving deeper into the sources

;).

A couple more

Mediocrity knows nothing higher than itself; but talent instantly recognizes genius.

There is no more deceptive than an obvious fact.

Andro!  Long time no see :D.

That's not exactly how I interpreted the Sherlock series, but that's a discussion for another time and place :lol:.

perhaps it's time to place them

;)

researched to find the titles of the quotes solved and counted letters according to the blue numbers to come up with VERY TRULY Y(OURS?) IE.  Thus the thought that the final answer might be a VALEDICTION which sounded somewhat familiar/tonally sensible re Sherlock Holmes.

Oh, I see ^_^.   Very nice :thumbsup:, but the last letter should be an A, not an E...

...resulting in another line from the canon as the answer, which I think you'll understand ;)

Edit:  Nice job, everyone :D
