Question

More silliness!

I fall like a stone,

But I float on the breeze.

You’ll often find me

At home in the trees.

Sometimes I bristle and sometimes I’m vane,

Sometimes I’m bright and sometimes I’m plain.

There’s also one unfortunate truth that I’ve found:

When I let myself soften I always end down.

Prabinmetals,

Nope!

MissKitten,

Thanks! I can't swear I'll always be this prolific, but they're new and fun to write right now.

Was the spelling on "vane" intentional? Or did you really mean "vain" instead?

Nope!

But! (raises a finger in the air) a very good catch on "vane." Yes, it's intentional.

a kite?

as promised, had to take a shot. you're quite good at these  . and just now notice a new one. gonna need another cup of coffee.

Thank you!

And nope! (I actually had to check but there are a couple key words that kite doesn't meet. Whew! I was afraid I'd left another one too open!)

i know this is kinda weird n absurd, buh could it be...."life"??............pardon me for leaving it in the open, i don't know how to use spoilers well

No, but I like the way you think!

The spoiler button is in your reply toolbar - in the second row, there's a white "S" in a blue box.

Click on it. Where it asks for the title, put something generic, like "My guess"

Then put whatever you want to hide in the "Enter the text to be masked" box.

The tag doesn't play nice when you try to put it in manually :/ but the box works pretty well!

In the forum rules, they ask that you turn threads into polls when they are solved so that people browsing can tell which entries have answers in the thread and which don't.

Not everybody does it, but it's a good idea so I do. *smile*

No problem.

I fall like a stone, (In high school physics you learn that the rate of acceleration is constant in gravity. This is often illustrated with a feather and a stone)

But I float on the breeze. (Seems obvious)

You’ll often find me

At home in the trees. (on birds)

Sometimes I bristle and sometimes I’m vane, (Bristle and vane are both parts of a feather)

Sometimes I’m bright and sometimes I’m plain. (Color)

There’s also one unfortunate truth that I’ve found:

When I let myself soften I always end down. (Down is the soft underfeathers of a bird that keep them warm.)
