Question

I know that this is stretching the definition of Word Riddles but hey... There is nothing as funny as a good Mondegreen.

Can you name either the original/real lyric or the song?

If you're interested, the origins of the term are outline in a wiki article.

Please add your own (preferably with a clue in a spoiler) but number them uniquely, otherwise we might all get confused :D

I'll get the ball rolling with some fairly well known ones...

1. "...alex the seal..."

Go-Gos

2. "Might as well face it, you're a d**k with a glove"

Robert Palmer

3. "...my anus is the center hole..."

J. Geils Band

4. "...wrapped up like a douche..."

Manfred Mann's Earth Band

5. "...four hundred children had a cr*p in the field..."

Kenny Rogers

#2 is

Addicted to love (not d*** with a glove)

#3 is

my angel is a centerfold

#5 is

four hungry children and crops in the field. From Lucille

All that classic rock on the radio paid off :P. I don't listen to KD lang (I don't know who that is)

8. "...I don't understand the point of fingers..." (might only be really well known for Aussies)

Eskimo Joe

9. "...the pelican sh*t inside her head..."

Boomtown Rats

I have one, this one you guys prob won't recognize, but this is how I interpreted this song at first

D***s are fine at any place, they are yours to embrace

by Radiohead

I think I may be the only one who knows this unless there's another hardcore radiohead fan out here like me :P

I've got 2 more hints if you don't get this.

This sounds like part of "Creep" (from the rhythm) ?

No I've changed my mind - hmm... wanders off to find "OK Computer"...

Not there, but still listen to it. Great album (as they all are) Hint?

The rhythm of the lyric sounds a bit like 'Sulk' off 'The Bends' but I think I'll need a hint.

Hint time:

it's a single

:P. I'm sure that's what you were looking for but Radiohead have a lot of famous non-singles

I have two more hints after this, both really helpful

Beatles

haha, very nice...

"something in the way she moves attracts me like no other lover..."

try this one:

"homeostasis, somewhere there's a chromosome.."

taylor swift

I've only listened to one Taylor Swift song in my life, and when I thought I heard another one of her songs, turned out it was Justin Bieber. Dead serious :duh: . Let's say a lot of girls can't forgive me for that one :P

Another hint for the radiohead one?

And in the meantime, how about another malapropism in music? My friend kept telling me about the lyrics of this and I laughed.

"You need Kool-aid, well maybe I made Kool-aid. I'm gonna say yeah, and give you Kool-aid"

Led Zeppelin. Not expecting that, were you?

I didn't quite understand you there fabpig, but in the meantime...

Here's another hint for mine

Look at the titles of the songs, they might correlate with the malapropism
