thats right!!!....its the correct code...but please explain it?

The letters correspond to a two number combination. Using the codes given, the common letters are always the same combination number: X=36, Q=14, C=43 thus proving the letter to two digit number. The only common letter between the given codes and the one to decode is U, so the lock combination must end in 62. Further, X=36 and there being no X in the given code, 3 cannot be in the fourth place (immediately preceding 6).

So, canceling out the number combinations used in the given codes we're left with 11 usable two digit combinations and through trial and error find four different possible lock combinations (153462, 341562, 453162, or 534162). But this really doesn't help other than to know the final answer must be one of the four.

I then wrote out all 30 possible two digit combinations into a table with columns corresponding to the first digit in numerical order (column one had 12,13,14,15,16; column two had 21,23,24,25,26, etc.) and placed the known letters next to the their corresponding cell. I saw that the cells were in alphabetical order starting in the top right of the table and descending down and to the left one each time. Filling in the table made solving the problem simple.
