Question

Hi all, what type of puzzle is Einstein's Quiz considered to be? I solved it in under an hour and I NEED more. This is great brain fodder. Please someone, tell me what sort of puzzles these are. Where can I get more? Thanks in advance. VirtueO

If you will forgive me for referencing an outside puzzle site, I believe http://www.puzzles.c...icproblems.html has several.

tamjap, not a problem. Thanks for the link.

There is a whole forum on this site, VirtuO, where you might find other links to stuff you might like.

I think the fun aspect of Einstein's puzzle (BTW thanks for mentioning that VirtueO, not seen it before and it was fun!) is that there were 6 variables (position, colour, drink, smoke, nationality, pet). That makes the classic logic problem grid format a little impractical, still possible but maybe inefficient. I always used to do those logic puzzles as a kid but I found them a bit formulaic after a while. With this one I did it without using a grid, I think that makes it a lot more fun, you have to find some other way of getting a handle on it.

Is that what the appeal of the Einstein puzzle is to you?

If so, check out the H&S Delegation link in my signature. Not as good as Einstein but it might tickle your fancy anyway. I always meant to improve on it but never got around to it, maybe I will soon. The whole point is to defy any systematic grid-based approach (whether it actually does, I don't know)

I'm sure Brainden has spewed up a few similar things over the years, I for one would welcome links to the better ones.
