kth term is...]if kth term is given as A(Cardinal(4+22-k),CHR$(np[8k+68+1]+64),

where A() returns a valid English word with the second string argument placed before, after or within the first

string argument, then:

k = 1 : A(Cardinal(4),L) = A(FOUR,L) = FLOUR

k = 2 : A(Cardinal(8),W) = A(EIGHT,W) = WEIGHT

k = 3 : A(Cardinal(10),R) = A(TEN,R) = TERN

k = 4 : A(Cardinal(11),S) = A(ELEVEN,S) = ELEVENS

...

Hmmm, but I don't see an option e[/e]?

e) ELEVENS (definition: noun teams of 11 players)

I guess I will have to choose the next best answer:

b) THIRSTY : A(Cardinal(30),S) = A(THIRTY,S)

If one tries to verify the expression I gave in my last post, they will see it is incorrect.

Rather than post a note or correction, I offer these other words that could belong to the set {FlOUR, wEIGHT, TErN, THIRsTY,...}. There are more than I list here. Some of the words I do list are not in common use, but I list these as I found no other English word that is created in like fashion for the cardinal:

(Z)ONE       {noun: an area or region}

TWO(C)       {[British informal] verb: to steal (a car)}

THRE(N)E     {noun: a dirge or lamentation}

S(W)EVEN     {[archaic] noun: a dream or a vision experienced in sleep}

FORT(H)Y     {[archaic] adverb: therefore}

(W)EIGHTY    {adjective: of great gravity or import}
Related, but requiring the addition of more than one character in the added character string, are two more 'number' words:

(VER)MILLION {noun: a vivid red to reddish-orange color}

(ASI)NINE    {adjective: inanely foolish}
