ahh..quite hard. qns 8 should be B. (1st square 12 subtract 3 to derive 3rd square 9 thus third square should be 6 and since its a single shape, so B. is the correct answer i think). Qns 4 should be E. just rotate the the circles by the same angle and u get it.

the first 3 questions are realliiii harrdddddddddd...good luck!

Q1> answer C . In the 1st pattern the top shaded line and right shaded line are turning clockwise and the extra three shaded bits on the left bottom corner are rising up. and whenever 2 shaded bits overlap they cancel each other to turn white.

in the 5th pattern, the bits will be returnin downwards thus justifying C.

but I suppose A is also quite probable.

Q2> Answer E. Alternate pattern has arrows starting and ending at the ends of thunders. 1st arrow starts from end of a thunder to its front...so does 5th arrow....so 3rd arrow should start from front of a thunder

Q4> Answer E. the shaded block in each column rotated by a fixed angle clockwise and anticlockwise to generate the other two patterns.

Q5> Answer D. Pattern 1 rotated 45 degree anticlock to give pattern 2 which rotated 90 degree to give pattern 3 which rotate 45 degree anticlock to give option D which rotate 90 degree anticlock to give pattern 5

Q7> Answer C. Each row has triangle circle and square...narrows down to option A B C. Now each pattern of triangles and circles never repeat their diagonal direction. This can only be justified by option C

Q8> Answer B. Alternate patterns are single block... pattern 1 12 sides pattern 3 9 sides...so unknown pattern should have 6 sides.

The answer for number one cannot be C. Your logic is sound but if C where correct the set of three blocks would appear in full on the answer, starting on the second row. The correct answer is D, assuming that the set of three block just flips over to the bottom of the array.

1. D - 2 lines of shaded blocks rotating 90 degrees, with a 3 shaded block pattern rising. When they overlap, it is white.

2. E - arrow curves rotating, and lightning bolt alternates between across and towards/away

3. D - consistent with pattern of number of sides / number of shaded dots for each line

4. E - follows pattern on row for orientation, on column for orientation, and for diagonal for shading

5. not sure, but I believe it's D (only one that maintains the shaded center dot trend)

6. don't know

7. C - completes the pattern of 1 each for circles / triangles / squares with each orientation (2 different diagonals, 1 horizontal / vertical)

8. B - follows pattern for total number of sides, and number of separate shapes

I got:

1) D

2) D

3) E

4) E

5) D

6) B

7) C

8) A

Tried to edit to change answers and add reasoning. Here is the correction:

1) D - Agree with caprirs302

2) D - Thunder directions draw a star making it A or D. Arrows describe folding a paper into a pentagon.

3) C - 1st column even sides 2 axes of symmetry and rotational symmetry, 2nd column odd sides 1 axis and no rotational symmetry, 3rd column even sides 2 axes and rotational symmetry, finally no two shapes repeat.

4) E - Agree with Felicia

5) D - Agree with buckinfastard

6) B - Arrow pointing right in all figures

7) C - Agree with ogden_tbsa

8) B - Agree with above
