I heard the announcer shout excitedly as the ball cracked off the bat. "Going, going, gone!" he cried. My face and and the 12 stitches embedded in it beg to differ about that last part.

I'll be honest - I didn't come to this page to answer a riddle.

okay.... the answer please?
Haha, my friend, that's not the way we do things here in the forums. We sit, we thing, we gripe, we scream, we pull our hair, stomp our feet, shout out expletives, sigh resignedly, spin in our chairs, tap our pen against our head, give up, leave, get drawn back, sit down, and still can't figure it out. But no freebie answers. Even if we have no freakin' idea what we're doing.

I just logged in maybe 2 minutes ago. BrainDen's amazingly rich community is, to be blunt, gone. Somehow, we've lost everybody and everything. I'm one of them; I moved on from BD. There were those before me, those after me, and now, nobody's left. Sure, bona and plasmid fight valiantly, but our once-powerful empire has fallen. MM's fallen, too; hardly anybody left. There doesn't appear to be any chance at getting people back, unless we make some sort of amazing, drastic change. But I don't think that's going to happen. It's just...sad. I used to be in love with the site. So many senior players in the forums, so many riddles...Now it's gone.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, was my depressing opinion piece.

By "towel", what exactly do you mean? A hand towel, a paper towel, a bath towel, etc?
The guy, Neil Whatchamacallit, used the towel and poisoned it. O'Hare then used it and it went into his pores. At least, that's what I've learned from watching Monk.

But wouldn't those with the rare beneficial mutations be already riddled with detrimental mutations?
Those that are will die. There will be, however, that single organism where every mutation lines up perfectly, and thus will survive and thrive and the process repeats.
