Each line describes with synonyms/short definitions, two different words and some kind of direction that one of the words should be subtracted from the other. The answer then remains with each of the ten fitting a general theme hinted at in the title. Like these: Somethings Fishy Here Parts Is Parts

An English saloon, guzzler of a kind
With room in the front as well as behind

 
I've got her covered, as she can see
And still on the loose, bearing testimony

 
Off shore in other words my name thus compounded

And the coolest of circles I can almost be found in

Free rides to the first, then quits lickety split

Foiled Again

There is a problem at Story's Chocolate Coins factory  ...and at the busiest time of year  ...and with their most popular product - the twenty seven piece gold coin purse.  Apparently silver foiled coins are being misdirected to the gold foiling lines and being refoiled.  Like the standard gold coins, these twice wrapped coins are perfectly identical to each other and visually identical to the standard gold coin in every way unless weighed; the second wrapping making them slightly heavier.  Four such coins are some how finding their way into each twenty seven piece gold coin purse this season.  Which just goes to show, not every Story's chocolate filled gold coin has a silver lining.  All right, all right, the puzzle: using a balance scale twice, find four standard gold coins from one of this season's twenty seven piece gold coin purses.

Below are ten fairly common two word phrases to tame. Correctly interpreting each phrase may well require thinking beyond the expected/typical meaning of each. Realizing this could be quite vague, some limits have been placed on the ten answers. Each is four letters. The letters of the answers derived from 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10 are mirror images of each other. The answers from 2-3, 4-5, 6-7, 8-9 are synonyms.

For a final challenge and since there are really just five answers, respond by connecting each of the five pairs of reversible words with a chain of common four letter words whereby each "link" in the chain is made by changing a single letter from adjacent words (all letters should be changed at least once).
