Across deep water a jewel’s true course,
One virgin clapping sealing doom,
Her golden rings borne too soon.
Beauty yoked upon a scaffold
From waist to lip defiled, rattled.
All who saw her gasped in horror.
“She must live!” each witness swore.
She opens doors for stately kings
Alas, she cannot bear her rings.

I really hope that this is not solved by tomorrow, I want to be able to help solve it if I can.

Rings, Kings, Jewels... I'm perplexed.

I feel like I'll have a better platform from which to jump once we figure out "waist to lip"... Why lip? Why waist? I'm befludberghasted.
