I think a coffin is wanted actually....
they'd rather the person wasn't dead but at the same time now that they are dead,they want the coffin

You can say that about anything someone buys; that's why they're buying it. But there must be an answer to the puzzle that satisfies buying something that isn't really wanted and coffin fits as good or better than any other answer I can think of.
